John Terry hits back with a superb all-round display for Chelsea at Burnley
After the whole John Terry / Wayne Bridge / Vanessa Perroncel storm of last week, this was exactly what the current England captain needed. Chelsea didn’t play well at Turf Moor, and it was a poor game overall, but Terry turned in a terrific performance.
In a way, it was precisely the kind of game Terry would have wanted – scrappy, low-key, and against a side which would cause him many problems defensively.
Of course, the fact he scored the winner with a brilliant header guaranteed him all the headlines, but he was excellent all over the pitch – a 91% tackle success rate, and a 100% pass success rate.
A difficult week he may have had, but you can always rely on John Terry – on the pitch, anyway.

Didn’t expect Terry to be too phased by all that’s going on around him. Quality performance from a quality player.
